Stiff brim requires that the hat cannot be folded or packed in a smaller box. When not wearing, you can put it in the bag and lay it flat in our box to avoid dust and deformation.
Even if it arrives deformed, it can be brought back into shape with the help of a steam iron.

Not Flat

Unboxed it (not sure if it’s meant to be uneven or not but it does not stay even. Very stiff and won’t mold without damaging

It's hard.

It looks good from a distance.  The material is just not what I expected.  It states that it wool/felt, which to me says soft/comfortable.  But it isn't.  It feels cheap.  It feels like it's cookie cutter, machine made.  It feels like it's made of some kind of compressed cardboard.  It's hard.  You can knock loudly on it.  I wouldn't mind keeping it but not for the $140 I paid for it.  It isnt worth that much, in my humble opinion.  This thing is going back.

What is hat size recommendation?

  • To ensure the perfect fit, we recommend following our size guide and measuring your head circumference firstly.
  • If your head measures between M-57cm ( 57.1cm-58.0cm ), L-59cm ( 58.1cm-60.0cm ) and XL-61cm ( 60.1cm-61.0cm ) we suggest opting for the smaller size for a snug and comfortable fit.
  • It's important to note that our stiff hats often experience a break-in stage like wearing new shoes then wool felt may become slightly loose.

Why choose a hat with high stiffness?

The degree of stiffening in a fedora hat is a crucial determinant in achieving both a desired look and functionality. A hat brim with a higher level of stiffening provides a firm structure, preserving the integrity of the brim's shape, ensuring that the hat retains its intended shape and design over an extended period.

How can I soften the stiff hat?

We understand that the stiff feel might be a new experience, similar to breaking in a new pair of shoes. To help you achieve the perfect fit and comfort, we recommend the following break-in process:
  1. Use a handheld steamer with medium heat.
  2. Steam the hat crown for 10-12 seconds.
  3. Immediately wear the hat for 1 hour.
  4. Repeat this process once a week, 2-3 times per month.
This break-in routine will gradually soften the hat crown, allowing it to mold to the shape of your head for a more personalized and comfortable fit

How can I straighten a bent hat brim?

1. Steam the Hat:
  • Take an iron and steam the hat. (Note: Do not apply the iron directly to the felt of the hat.)
  • Steam the hat with a distance of around 5-10cm.
2. Protect the Brim:
  • Place a thin wet cotton fabric between the brim and the iron.
  • Iron gently all around the brim.
3. Reshape the Hat:
  • Use your hands to gently reshape the hat, focusing on the areas with creases.
  • Allow the hat to air dry in a cool, dry place with hat holder.
